BCC Script Chapter 1: "The Cards With Teats" PAGE 1 Panel 1 Dracula: "My son, the new dawn of the vampire is upon us. As is our custom, for your tenth birthday, you must go out and experience the wonders of the outside world...and conquer them. Panel 2 Dracula: "Your half-blood will protect you from the sunlight, and allow you to blend in amongst the humans. Panel 3 Jameson: "Here are your things, Young Master." Panel 4 Dracula: "Make me proud, Antonin." Splash page: BEV of the castle. Battle Card Crusaders and Chapter title displayed...someplace. PAGE 2 Panel 1(spread on top) Caption: "Only a week into his quest; third son of Dracula, Antonin, faces first challenge: the boredom of travelling through miles of forest without the faintest trace of civilization." Antonin: (grumbling) "I'm so hungry." Panel 2 Voice: "Accursed thing! I'll make sure my son never finds you again!" Panel 3 Antonin sees man tossing a card into a freshly dug hole. PAGE 3 Panel 1 View from inside the hole: Guy looks over to where his shovel was. "Where'd that shovel go?!" Panel 2 Side view: Antonin whacks him over the head with the shovel. Space between panels: Antonin biting the guy's neck. Panel 3 Antonin wipes his mouth and bends down into the hole. Antonin: "What's this?" Panel 4 Antonin: "All that fuss over a card?" PAGE 4 Panel 1 Antonin touches the card's surface. Antonin: "Hm..." Panel 2 Card: "Hello, I am your Battle Card! Who are you?" Antonin is surprised. Antonin: "My name is Antonin Dracula." Panel 3 Card: "Greetings, Antonin Dracula. Please give me a name." Antonin: "I dunno...Uh, Cardy." Panel 4 Cardy: "You are a very creative boy or girl! Please continue the activation process by giving me a face. You can use the pen on my back to do so." (pen slides up from card) Panel 5 Antonin draws a face resembling Dracula on Cardy. Antonin: "Ok...add some fangs...and the hairline..." Panel 6 Cardy pixelates face for itself, but turns the hair into a unibrow. Cardy: "Thank you!" Antonin: "Hey!" PAGE 5 Panel 1 Antonin: "That's not how I drew-" Cardy: "Please insert me with battle chips!" Panel 2 Antonin: "I don't have any chips." Cardy: "You must fight other players to win their chips! Or buy them to increase our power!" Panel 3 Antonin: "You can help me become stronger in battle? Incredible! I'll help you get these 'chips' you require if you'll aid me in my journey." Cardy: "I have targetted potential opponents nearby!" Panel 4 Antonin: (thinking) "I wonder...Can I use this weapon to conquer the living?" Cardy: "You can find money in your mother's purse! Use currency to make me stronger!" PAGE 6 Panel 1 Caption: "Accompanied by a new friend, Antonin, heads towards Kamarov Village. However, Antonin will soon learn there are always dangers laying in wait." Antonin and Cardy walking along forest path. Panel 2 Cardy: "We are very close to a potential opponent!" Antonin: "Huh? I don't see anything but more trees." Panel 3 A giant monster jumps onto the path in front of them. Antonin: "Aha! You've done well, Cardy! My first real challenge!" Panel 4 Monster: "BUWAHAHA! I'm gonna eat your face, kid!" Cardy: "What a colorful declaration!" PAGE 7 Panel 1 Antonin dodges the monster's fist and rushes at its leg. Antonin: "I must warn you, foe..." Panel 2 Antonin whacks it repeatedly with the shovel, rather weakly. Antonin: "...As the son of Dracula, I cannot be defeated!" Panel 3 The monster has an "oh crap!" look on its face. Monster: "D-Dracula!?" Panel 4 Antonin continues to swat feebly at the monster's leg. Monster: (thinking) "Geez! If I kill a Dracula, my guts'll be decorating the treetops for sure!" Panel 5 Monster spots Cardy. Monster: "A Battle Card? This gives me an idea..." PAGE 8 Panel 1 Monster picks up Antonin. Monster: "Hey, kid. I've got a proposition for ya. Fighting's so uncivilized, ya know." Panel 2 Antonin: "Huff huff! I'm listening." Panel 3 Monster: "I couldn't help but notice you have a Battle Card. Well, I just so happen to do a little Battle Dueling myself. So I'll make you a deal. If you beat me in Battle Cards, I'll let you pass unharmed. And if I win, you...uh...pay me a toll." Antonin: "Deal!" Panel 4 Antonin: "Show me your strength, Cardy!" Monster: (whispering to card) "Fight to lose, you hear me?" Panel 5 Wide Panel: Both cards rush at each other with intensity. Panel 6 Wide Panel: Cards start to fight each other, rather pathetically. Cards: "Eh! Eh! Bonk! Eh! Eh!" Antonin: "THAT'S YOUR GREAT STRENGTH!?" PAGE 9 Panel 1 Cardy starts to lose the fight. Cardy: "My health is...depleting rapidly." Antonin: "This is retarded! Can't we just fight each other?" Panel 2 Monster looks panicky. Monster: "Uh...no, no! Hey, I think your card is starting to win!" Panel 3 Antonin: "Huh? Really? Well, my fighting spirit must have rubbed off on him!" Antonin looks prouder. Cardy: "Oh, lawdy, I'm dyin'!" Panel 4 Monster: "Hey, look in that direction!" Monster points behind Antonin, who looks in 'that direction'. Panel 5 Monster snaps his Battle Card to throw the fight. Battle Card screams for a cheap laugh. Panel 6 Monster: "Hey, kid! You won the fight! Congratulations!" Antonin: "All right! That was awesome!" Cardy: "Visit our website at www.battlecards.fun!" PAGE 10 Panel 1 Monster: "Well, as the rules state, I have to give you whatever battle chips I had set into my card. Since I only have two, here you are!" Panel 2 Antonin: "How do I use these chip things?" Monster: "On the back of your card are slots to insert the chips. You have three slots for Offensive chips and two slots for Defensive chips. Any chips you insert into your card will give it that effect in battle." Panel 3 Monster: "The two chips I gave you are both Offensive chips. You can find out what chips you have by placing them in the Official Battle Chip Collector's Book." Antonin: "Oh, I don't have one of those." Panel 4 Monster: "Hm..Kamaroz Village is about ten miles ahead. You can buy one at the games shop there." Antonin: "I uh...don't have any money." Panel 5 Monster: "I'll tell you what. Since you beat me in combat, I'll lend you some gold." (thinking) "Once the Count hear's about my generosity to his son, he'll reward me for sure!" Panel 6 Cardy: "I sense you are carrying currency! Let us make way to the nearest Battle Card Dealer to purchase more power!" Antonin: "Right!" Monster: "Good luck, kid!" PAGE 11 Panel 1 Night-time. Antonin and Cardy are sitting around a campfire. A giant piece of meat is on a roasting spit over the fire. Antonin is eating some of it. Antonin: "Mmm mmm...*smak*..." Panel 2 Antonin: "It's a good thing we waited till nightfall to go back and kill that beast-man." Cardy: (sitting near a stick with the torn card stuck to it) "Devouring one's opponent allows you to devour their wisdom!" Panel 3 Antonin: "He was right about one thing..*munch*...all the good bits are in the face." Cardy: "I hope the rest of our journey isn't as awkwardly dark as this!" PAGE 12 Panel 1 Antonin points up ahead to a village just over the hills. Antonin: "Look, Cardy! It's Kamaroz Village!" Cardy: "Hooray!" Panel 2 Antonin and Cardy enter the village. Antonin: "Let's find that games shop, the beast-man told us about." Panel 3 Farmer: "Did you say the beast-man!?" The other villagers gather around Antonin. Antonin: "Why, yes! Uh...heh heh! I killed him just last night. I have some of his things to prove it." Panel 4 Old Woman: "Oh, my! He's slain Boris!" The villagers are overwhelmed with joy. Panel 5 Innkeeper: "Young hero, you're free to stay the night at the inn whenever you wish!" Antonin: "Gee, thanks!" Panel 6 Antonin looks over his shoulder and sees the sign for the games shop. Antonin: "Oh! There it is!" PAGE 13 Panel 1 Antonin approaches the shopkeeper. Antonin: "Excuse me, but I need a Battle Chip Collector's Book." Shopkeeper: "Eh?" Panel 2 Shopkeep: "Oh! Are you new to the game? The upgraded Battle Card Compendiums just came in recently. They're far more advanced than the Collector's Books." Cardy: "Why not get them both?" Panel 3 Antonin: "I only have a few gold coins on me. I doubt I have enough." Panel 4 Shopkeep: (shrugging) "Hm...Well, I guess you're probably not good enough to be a true Battle Cards champion anyway." Cardy: "NOOOOOO!" PAGE 14 Panel 1 Antonin: "What do the books have to do with being a champion? I thought I just had to battle people and get more chips." Shopkeep: "Hahaha!" Panel 2 Shopkeep: "That's only part of it! Battle Card champions will face many hardships on their path to conquest. But with the right equipment, ANYONE can overcome these challenges." Panel 3 Antonin: "What happens if you become a Battle Card champion?" Panel 4 Shopkeep: "It is said that the Battle Card champion will reign supreme over all of his opponents and even the world! Unrivaled in power, all bow down to him!" PAGE 15 Panel 1 Antonin: "Incredible! If I became the Battle Card champion, it would bring honor to my family and expand our kingdom!" Panel 2 Shopkeep: "But in order to become a true champion, you'll need all the Battle Card gear you can get your hands on!" Antonin: "But I don't have the money for it..." Panel 3 Shopkeep: "Not to worry. All Battle Card shops will gladly buy any of the chips you win in battle. If you save wisely, you can buy the rarest of battle chips to really super-charge your Battle Card!" Panel 4 Antonin: "So what you're telling me is..." Cardy: "More money means more power!" PAGE 16 Panel 1 Antonin is outside the shop. The shopkeep and Cardy are with him. Shopkeep: "I see one of the local kids over there! Hey, Tadd! Come over here!" Panel 2 A boy comes over to the group. Tadd: "What's up, Mr. Jonesen?" Panel 3 Shopkeep: "This boy here is new in town and he needs some help learning more about Battle Cards. Think you can help him out?" Panel 4 Tadd: "Oh, sure! We can go to the Battle Arena together!" Antonin: "Battle Arena?" PAGE 17 Panel 1 Tadd and Antonin approach a run-down looking shack on the outskirts of the village. Tadd: "Here we are!" Antonin: "This is it!?" Panel 2 Tadd: "The Battle Arena may not look like much, but the Arena Master has taught us that true greatness doesn't come from appearance or certifications!" Panel 3 Tadd and Antonin enter. The inside of the Battle Arena contains a moldy old gym mat. The Arena Master, Greco, is huddled by a computer. Tadd: "Hey, Greco!" Panel 4 Greco rushedly shuts off his computer and spins around. Greco: "AGH! I mean...Hello there, Battlers!" Panel 5 Tadd: "Greco, this is...?" Antonin: "Antonin. I'd like to learn more about Battle Cards." Greco: "Welcome, Antonin! I am the Battle Master in this village, and you've come to the right place!" PAGE 18 Panel 1 Tadd and Antonin stand at opposite ends of the gym mat. Greco is in the center. Greco: "First, Antonin, you must have your chips set in your Battle Card. In order to challenge someone to a battle, you must have at LEAST one chip in your Battle Card. Losing any fights will result in the forfeit of all chips equipped and your ranking in the Official Battle Card Database will be effected." Panel 2 Antonin: "I have two chips but I'm not really sure what they are." Panel 3 Greco: "If you look at the color of the chips and the number, you can determine the category they fall into. Yours are red, Fire Type, and white, Holy Type." Panel 4 Greco: "I'll tell you what, Antonin. I heard you killed that monster outside of town, so I'd like to give you this as a token of the village's appreciation." Greco hands him a Compendium. Antonin: "Wow! Thanks alot!" Panel 5 Antonin looks in the Compendium. Greco: "Put your chips into those slots and it'll identify them for you. When you're able to buy a Battle Bracelet, you can switch your chips for others in your collection during battle. When you plan strategies, this will really come in handy." Panel 6 Antonin adds his chips. The book displays text under the chips, reading "#28: Fire Sword" and "#71: Holy Defender". Antonin: "Those sound pretty strong!" Tadd: "Hey, those are some good chips! To activate your chips' special abilities, you must call out their names during the battle. Fire Sword will give your card the Sword of Flame weapon to aid him during the fight." Panel 7 Tadd: "So, Antonin. Are you ready for a REAL battle?" PAGE 19 Panel 1 Antonin: "I'll use my two chips on Cardy." Cardy: "I'll fight my best!" Panel 2 Tadd: "Ok, Syphon, it's time for battle!" Tadd's Card, Syphon: "Kya!" Panel 3 Wide shot Greco: "BATTLE CARDS...BATTLE!" Panel 4 Wide shot The two cards pathetically fight each other like the first battle. Panel 5 Antonin: "This...isn't very interesting." Panel 6 Tadd and Greco are sweating feverously. Tadd: "Are you kidding!? This is intense! Your card is really putting up a fight!" Greco: "Maybe playing one of your special abilities will break your hardened shell, Antonin!" Panel 7 Antonin: "Oh yeah! Cardy, use Fire Sword!" Panel 8 Cardy and Syphon break away from each other. Cardy: "Right! Sword of Flame!" PAGE 20 Panel 1 Greco: "My God! Tadd, do you see that!" Tadd(shielding his eyes): "The sword's light is magnificent! I...I don't know if I can still go on!" Panel 2 Cardy and Syphon continue to fight pathetically. Antonin: "Are we watching the same battle??" Panel 3 Same shot of Greco and Tadd, as they continue to shield their eyes. Tadd: "Forged by the gods!" PAGE 21 Panel 1 Cardy: "Wheeze! Antonin, I am starting to weaken!" Antonin: "I better use that Holy chip then!" Panel 2 Tadd: "I, too, will use one of my special chips!" Panel 3(split) Antonin: "Activate 'Holy Defender'!" Tadd: "Activate 'Laser Barrage' and 'Diamond Shield'!" Panel 4 Greco: "This is what I call a battle!" Panel 5 Wide shot at bottom of page. Cardy and Syphon continue to fight pathetically. PAGE 22 Panel 1 Tadd: "Isn't this the most exciting thing you've ever seen in your life, Antonin??" Antonin: "I just see a couple of cards spanking each other." Panel 2 Greco: "Hahaha, I understand now!" Panel 3 Greco: "Tadd, Antonin hasn't gotten the Official Battle Card cornea implants yet! He's unable to see the glorious wonders of Battle Cards." Tadd: "Oh, of course!" Panel 4 Antonin: "There is so much about Battle Cards I do not yet understand! And yet, I must learn in order to become stronger!" PAGE 23 Panel 1 Greco: "Do not worry! Someday you may even be good enough to battle ME. Which you'll have to, if you want to get into the Battle Card Tournament." Panel 2 Antonin: "Tournament?" Panel 3 Tadd: "The tournament is held to challenge all Battle Card players, but in order to enter the tournament you'll have to beat many Arena Masters in battle. You must also find your fighting spirit and overcome the hurdle of the the $250 entrance fee!" Panel 4 Antonin: "I shall claim victory in this 'tournament' on the honor of my bloodline!" Cardy(with unconscious expression) Greco: "Tadd is the winner of this battle!" PAGE 24 Panel 1 Antonin: "Tadd won!? But how!? What about my sword?" Panel 2 Tadd: "Don't worry, Antonin. You fought valiantly. You can do anything if you put your mind to it!" Antonin and Tadd shake hands. Panel 3 Greco: "I don't normally give out this kind of information to just anyone, but there's an old hermit in the mountains of Moon Valley." Greco walks over to his computer. Panel 4 Greco types on his computer. Looking stuff up. Greco: "Legend has it, he was one of the four greatest Battle Card champions and a brilliant strategist. If you can reach him and convince him to train you, I'm sure you'll be capable of making it to the tournament." PAGE 25 Panel 1 Antonin: "So, it's off to Moon Valley then!" Greco: "Not so fast, kid!" Panel 2 Greco: "It's almost sunset, and you don't want to be travelling in the woods at night. Get some rest at the inn and I'll see you off tomorrow, all right?" Antonin(leaving): "Well, all right. Thanks again for everything! See you tomorrow, then!" Panel 3 Greco and Tadd are just standing there. Panel 4 Greco: "Would you like some lemona-?" Tadd(cuts him off and backs away): "I've gotta go home now." PAGE 26 Panel 1 Shot of the inn's exterior. Panel 2 Innkeeper: "So you had your first battle today, I hear!" Antonin(beat): "Yeah, but I lost." Panel 3 Innkeeper: "Remember, sonny, it's just a game. When you feel like you can never win, just look around you and discover that all the Battle Cards in the world can never replace nature's beauty." Antonin(smiling): "Say, thanks!" Panel 4 Cardy wipes itself across the Innkeeper's cheek. Cardy: "I curse you!" Panel 5 Innkeeper gets thinner. Panel 6 Innkeeper becomes a mummy. Antonin(o.c.): "Come on, Cardy! Let's rest up for our big day tomorrow!" PAGE 27 Panel 1 Antonin is now in his room. He takes a picture of his dad out of his pocket. Antonin: "Father will be so proud of me when I win that tournament, Cardy! I've even attained my first undead servant!" Cardy: "Yeah!" Panel 2 Antonin: "I bet that farmer is probably roaming the countryside by now, racking up more numbers for me!" Panel 3 Caption: "Earlier that day. 3:42PM to be precise..." (POV from the farmer's eyes. Looking at sun.) Farmer: "Unnnh...Master?...What is this thirst for blood I suddenly have?... Panel 4 (same POV but Farmer looks at hand which is on fire.)
